Steve Dowe opened Perry Street Brasserie in 1999 after working in the British Virgin Islands, South Carolina, Virginia, and Florida. Perry Street Brasserie is a forty-seat restaurant in downtown Galena, IL, with a menu that changes every four to six weeks. Signature dishes include Maryland-style crab cakes, St. Lucia (a curry with lobster, shrimp, and scallops), and pecan breaded garlic potato croquettes. The Brasserie has the repuation of being "the best little restaurant in Galena". It's also been rated one of the top 100 restaurants in America by Opentable.com.
